2016 Reserva Remírez de Ganuza is a refined Rioja from one of the most precise and respected producers in Rioja Alavesa. Made from fruit grown on old vines at the foot of the Sierra Cantabria, it brings together tradition, modern winemaking precision, and the elegance that has made the region world-famous.

Tasting Notes
Deep and inviting in the glass, with a dark ruby core and subtle garnet reflections. The nose is layered and complex, offering black fruits alongside tobacco, leather, and a gentle smoky edge. On the palate it is powerful yet polished, with impressive depth, fine-grained tannins, and vibrant freshness that keeps everything in balance. The finish is long, intense, and harmonious, and the wine has the structure and class to age beautifully for many years.

Production
The grapes come from more than 60-year-old vines in Rioja Alavesa, where limestone-rich clay soils and the continental climate help produce wines of intensity, freshness, and longevity. Harvesting is done by hand with strict sorting, including selection of only the upper part of the bunches, before the wine is matured for 26 months in French and American oak barriques and then given additional bottle aging.

Food & Serving
This Reserva is an excellent match for lamb, beef, game, and suckling pig, and it also pairs beautifully with Manchego and Jamón Ibérico. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting is recommended if the wine is being enjoyed young to allow its aromatic complexity to fully open.
