Tasting Notes
Deep ruby in the glass, this wine shows impressive concentration and clarity. The nose opens with blackcurrant, blackberry, cedar, graphite and violet, layered with hints of tobacco, spice and well-integrated oak. On the palate it is rich and commanding, with dense dark fruit, polished tannins and a firm mineral backbone that gives the wine real authority. The finish is long and persistent, with excellent freshness suggesting strong aging potential for many more years, and likely decades in a top cellar.

Production
Château Montrose is located on one of the finest gravelly ridges in Saint-Estèphe, overlooking the Gironde estuary, where the soils encourage excellent drainage and help create deeply structured wines. The estate’s vines are traditionally harvested with careful parcel selection, and vinification is carried out with precision to preserve purity, concentration and terroir expression.

This is an ideal match for ribeye steak, lamb, game, roast beef, truffle dishes or mature hard cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C and consider decanting for at least 1–2 hours to allow the wine to fully open, especially if enjoyed now.
