The Rings brothers’ playful motto, “Liebe geht durch den Saumagen” (“Love goes through the Saumagen”), reflects the estate’s special connection to this renowned terroir.

Tasting Notes
Mineral and cool in character, with a delicate structure and a fine, savoury hint of salt. Its poised, dry style and site-driven mineral expression suggest the balance and concentration expected of a Grosses Gewächs. The wine’s firm structure should allow it to develop with careful cellaring, though a specific drinking window is not provided.

Production
The south- and southeast-facing vineyards lie at the foot of the Haardt. Loess and calcareous marl form the topsoil, while limestone bedrock below, together with warmth, wind and cool nights, helps shape the Riesling’s freshness and mineral character. The wine is described as organic; details of harvesting and vinification are not available.

Food & Serving
Serve lightly chilled, around 10–12°C, with shellfish, grilled or steamed fish, roast poultry, or dishes with fresh herbs. Its dry, mineral profile should also complement mature goat’s cheese. Pouring shortly before serving should be sufficient; a brief decant can help the wine open if it seems particularly reserved.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0874/0614/9969/files/weingut-rings-riesling-saumagen-grosses-gewachs-2023-0.jpg?v=1791675339
