The vineyard’s name dates back to the 14th century, when it reportedly changed hands for sums of many Rhenish gulden; today, it is prized for its mineral-driven Rieslings.

Tasting Notes
The supplied tasting note is for the 2020 vintage, so it should not be taken as a definitive description of the 2024 wine. It describes a Riesling that begins tightly wound, with a stony, spare character gradually emerging in the glass. With air, delicate green-fruit and earthy notes appear, followed by a juicy palate, pronounced minerality and assertive acidity.

The combination of structure and acidity suggests potential to develop with bottle age, though the ideal drinking window for the 2024 vintage is not specified.

Production
Hundertgulden’s core is described as exceptionally rich in carbonate, giving the site its pronounced limestone character. The wine is identified as organic, but details about harvesting and vinification for the 2024 vintage were not provided.

Food & Serving
Try it with shellfish, grilled or steamed fish, or dishes featuring fresh herbs and citrus; its acidity and mineral profile can also complement goat’s cheese. Serve lightly chilled, around 10–12°C. If the wine seems particularly closed, allow it to breathe in the glass or decant briefly before serving.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0874/0614/9969/files/weingut-knewitz-riesling-hundertgulden-grosses-gewachs-bio-2024-0.jpg?v=1791675374
