The vineyard is especially meaningful to the family: the Seckinger brothers’ father began restoring its long-neglected plots around 30 years ago.

Tasting Notes
The available notes describe a more restrained, delicate nose than the preceding vintage, with earthy aromas taking a quieter role. The site is known for Rieslings with lively, crisp acidity; further details on the 2023 wine’s appearance and specific palate are not provided.

Production
Petershöhle’s old terraces sit at the edge of the forest, where a cool microclimate and sparse red sandstone soils contribute to the wines’ pronounced acidity. The steep, difficult-to-work plots have been carefully reclaimed by the family. Specific harvesting and vinification details for the 2023 vintage are not available.

Food & Serving
Try it with fresh seafood, grilled fish, or goat’s cheese, where its Riesling freshness can complement delicate flavours. Serve well chilled, around 8–10°C. Decanting is generally unnecessary, though a little time in the glass can help the wine open up.

Producer
Weingut Seckinger is a family winery in the Pfalz, now run by brothers Jonas, Lukas, and Philipp. Their commitment to restoring Petershöhle’s old terraces reflects a hands-on approach to the region’s vineyards and helps preserve a distinctive site for future generations.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0874/0614/9969/files/seckinger-riesling-deidesheim-petershohle-bio-2023-0.jpg?v=1791675073
