Produced using the traditional method and bottled without dosage, disgorgement or filtration, it combines bright fruit, pronounced freshness and a creamy, persistent mousse with a naturally cloudy appearance.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, Radice displays a delicate salmon-pink colour with a slightly hazy appearance caused by the natural presence of yeast lees. The nose is clear and fragrant, offering lively aromas of raspberry and grapefruit, with a fresh, subtly savoury edge.

The palate is dry, energetic and distinctly refreshing, with crisp acidity balancing the fine, creamy bubbles. Red berry and citrus flavours lead into a pleasantly bitter, persistent finish. Its structure and natural freshness make it especially enjoyable in its youth, while careful short-term cellaring may allow the wine’s texture and complexity to develop further.

Production
The grapes come from Paltrinieri’s historic Il Cristo vineyard in Sorbara, the leading area for Lambrusco di Sorbara in Emilia-Romagna. Its loose, silty soils help produce slender wines while preserving the variety’s naturally high acidity. The grapes are gently pressed to obtain free-run must, which is vinified as a white wine with spontaneous alcoholic fermentation. A natural second fermentation then takes place in the bottle for approximately 90 days. Radice is released without dosage, disgorgement or filtration, retaining its natural lees, cloudy appearance and distinctive tactile texture.

Food & Serving
Serve well chilled at approximately 8–10°C. Radice is a versatile partner for classic Emilian cuisine, including cured meats, mortadella, fresh pasta, tortellini, pizza and fried appetisers; its acidity also works beautifully with seafood, salads and creamy cheeses. Decanting is not recommended, as the wine’s natural lees are part of its character. Instead, chill the bottle upright and pour gently, or carefully invert it before serving if you prefer a more integrated, textured style.

Producer
Paltrinieri is a historic family-run winery from the Modena area, active since 1926 and dedicated to expressing the purest identity of Lambrusco di Sorbara. Radice represents the estate’s most traditional approach, using bottle fermentation and minimal intervention to preserve the grape’s natural acidity and character. The 2024 vintage also received excellent reviews from Vinous, highlighting the quality of this distinctive style.
