Made and matured in cement tanks and large oak casks, it offers a fresh, finely textured expression of the estate’s wines.

Tasting Notes
The first impression is slightly reductive, so give the wine time to breathe. As it opens, aromas of redcurrant, blueberry, violet and iris emerge. On the palate, it is energetic and vertical, with a slender, silky feel and fine, approachable tannins. Its freshness and structure suggest it will benefit from some time to gain further breadth, though no specific ageing window is stated.

Production
The 2024 blend comprises 90% Sangiovese, 5% Canaiolo and 5% Colorino. It was vinified and matured in cement tanks and large oak casks. Specific details about the vineyard terroir and harvesting methods are not available.

Food & Serving
Try it with roast chicken, grilled pork, tomato-based pasta or a selection of Tuscan-style cured meats and cheeses. Serve slightly cool, around 16–18°C. Because the wine can show a reductive character at first, allow it to breathe in the glass or decant for about 30 minutes before serving.

Producer
Montevertine was founded by Sergio Manetti in 1967 in the hills of Radda in Chianti. The estate is known for its distinctive, Sangiovese-led wines and its commitment to traditional winemaking in Tuscany. Pian del Ciampolo is one of its approachable expressions; the 2024 vintage yielded 26,000 bottles.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0874/0614/9969/files/montevertine-pian-del-ciampolo-2024-0_c31cfb5f-0bec-4d02-b0fd-16700c753ee3.png?v=1793607590
