On the nose, fresh lemon zest and ripe pear are complemented by subtle caramel notes. The palate is generously flavoured, with lively apricot and nectarine balanced by citrus freshness, while creamy vanilla undertones add a silky texture and a rounded finish.

Enjoyable now for its fruit-forward character and polished balance, this Chardonnay is best appreciated within the next few years while its freshness and vibrant stone-fruit flavours are at their most expressive.

Production
The fruit comes from vineyards throughout California’s Central Coast, including Paicines and Paso Robles for body and richness, Santa Lucia Highlands for acidity, elegance and tropical notes, and Santa Barbara County and Santa Maria Valley for roundness. After harvest, the grapes were whole-cluster pressed and chilled for one to two days before fermentation. The wine was then transferred to barrels, where it fermented and aged sur lie for 10 months in neutral American oak. Regular lees stirring—three times during maturation—helped develop its creamy texture. The final blend was assembled after 11 months, followed by one month of tank rest before bottling. The blend consists of 84% Chardonnay, 15% Viognier and 1% Sauvignon Blanc.

Food & Serving
Serve chilled at approximately 9–11°C. Its creamy texture and lively acidity make it a versatile partner for roast chicken, grilled fish, seafood pasta, creamy risotto and lightly spiced Asian dishes. It is equally enjoyable on its own, especially when served outdoors on a warm day. Decanting is not necessary, although allowing the wine a few minutes in the glass will let its fruit and creamy aromas open up.

Producer
Liberty School is a well-established Californian wine brand with roots stretching back to the 1970s.
