The 100% Pinotage grapes are hand-harvested, destemmed and crushed before fermentation in stainless-steel tanks, using selected biodynamic yeast to preserve the character of the vineyards. The name Kaapzicht means approximately “view of the Cape”, referring to the estate’s elevated position overlooking Cape Town and Table Mountain. The winery is particularly respected for its historic vineyards, including a Chenin Blanc block planted in 1947, as well as its Pinotage, Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordeaux-inspired blends.
