Produced in limited quantities from approximately 40-year-old vines, it combines bright freshness with a pronounced mineral character, making it a particularly compelling example of modern, terroir-driven Soave. The label features a historical engraving from Diderot and d’Alembert’s Encyclopédie, reflecting the wine’s connection to heritage and craftsmanship.

Tasting Notes
The wine has an intense straw-yellow appearance. Its aromatic profile is vibrant and precise, revealing yellow flowers, ripe peach and subtle hints of flint. On the palate, lively acidity provides energy and definition, while layered mineral and savoury notes lead into a long, distinctly spicy and saline finish.

Despite its immediate freshness, the wine has the structure to develop further in bottle. With careful cellaring, its fruit and floral notes should evolve towards greater complexity, while the volcanic minerality and refined savoury character become increasingly pronounced.

Production
The grapes come from Inama’s Carbonare vineyard in the heart of the Soave Classico zone, where pergola-trained vines grow at around 250 metres above sea level. Deep, dark basaltic soils and a cool microclimate, tempered by air currents from the Alpone Valley and the Little Dolomites, encourage slow, balanced ripening and preserve aromatic freshness. The Garganega is hand-harvested from organically and sustainably farmed vines, then gently pressed following a short period of skin maceration. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by approximately 12 months of maturation on the fine lees with regular bâtonnage. Further bottle ageing completes the wine’s development and maintains its aromatic purity.

Food & Serving
Its pronounced acidity and mineral, saline finish make this Soave an excellent partner for raw shellfish, oysters, delicate seafood and classic risottos. It also has the freshness and intensity to complement richly spiced Asian dishes, including Thai and Vietnamese cuisine. Serve chilled at around 10–12°C. Decanting is not essential, but allowing the wine to open in a large glass for a few minutes can reveal additional layers of fruit, spice and volcanic minerality.

Producer
Inama is a respected Veneto producer known for expressing the character of Soave’s volcanic hillsides, as well as for its work with other historic varieties in the region. The Carbonare vineyard is one of the estate’s most distinguished sites, and its limited annual production of around 10,000 bottles underlines the wine’s exclusivity. Its reputation is supported by strong international recognition, including 94 points from James Suckling, 93 points from Vinous and 4 Viti from AIS.
