Rooted in the region’s tradition of skin-contact white wines, it gains unusual depth and texture from eight months of maceration in terracotta amphorae.

Tasting Notes
Extended skin contact gives the wine a deep, golden appearance. The aromas bring together white-fleshed fruit, citrus and orchard fruit, with subtle hints of green pepper and star anise.

Production
The Nosiola grapes come from three hectares of vineyards at Fontanasanta, on the hills of Trento in Valle dei Laghi. Clay and limestone soils contribute texture and a pronounced mineral character, while biodynamic farming aims to express the vitality of the site. Fermentation and maturation take place in Spanish terracotta amphorae, with the must kept on its skins for eight months. The wine is bottled unfiltered, and its structure and mineral freshness give it the potential to develop in bottle.

Food & Serving
Its texture and savoury mineral edge should work well with roast poultry, grilled fish, earthy vegetable dishes or aged cheeses. Serve at around 15°C to allow the aromas to open, and give it time to breathe in a decanter or opened bottle before serving.

Producer
Elisabetta Foradori’s Fontanasanta Nosiola draws on Trentino’s long-standing tradition of making white wines with skin contact.
