Sourced mainly from the middle of the estate vineyard, it sits stylistically between the lighter Othello and the more structured Dominus; Napanook is the second wine of an estate founded by Christian Moueix in 1983.

Tasting Notes
The available notes do not specify the wine’s appearance. On the nose, cherry and dusty, earthy aromas are joined by a touch of vanilla. The medium- to full-bodied palate is lush and fruit-forward, with smooth tannins leading into a long finish marked by black olive and black tea.

Production
The blend is 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot, sourced mainly from the middle section of the estate vineyard. Specific details about the 2023 harvest, vineyard soils and winemaking are not provided. Its supple tannins and concentration suggest potential to develop in bottle, though no specific drinking window is available.

Food & Serving
Try it with grilled or roasted beef, lamb, or hearty mushroom dishes. Serve at around 16–18°C; a short decant of 30–60 minutes can help open the wine, particularly if enjoying it young.

Producer
Dominus Estate was established in Napa Valley by Christian Moueix, known for his work with Bordeaux estates.
