Crafted with the same uncompromising focus on quality, old vines, and terroir-driven expression, it offers remarkable depth and precision at a more approachable level than the flagship wine.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, Flor de Pingus 2022 shows a dark, concentrated colour that hints at its intensity. The nose opens with ripe plum, black cherry, violet, and wild herbs, layered with refined barrel nuances of warm spice and a touch of toasted oak.

On the palate, it is full-bodied and powerful, yet never heavy. The fruit is wrapped in a fresh, saline minerality that lifts the wine and brings energy to the finish. With its structure, balance, and concentration, it has excellent aging potential and should develop even greater complexity over the next 10–20 years.

Production
The grapes come from old, partly rented vineyards in Ribera del Duero, close to the renowned Barrosso and San Cristóbal parcels. The vines are around 60 years old and rooted in limestone- and clay-rich soils, which contribute concentration, natural freshness, and a distinct mineral character.

Harvesting is done by hand, and vinification follows the estate’s classic approach: partial whole-cluster fermentation, spontaneous fermentation in large oak vats, and very gentle cellar intervention. The wine is then matured for around 14 months in French oak barrels, with only a small proportion new, before being bottled without fining or filtration to preserve purity and texture.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for beef, lamb, grilled entrecôte, game, braised dishes, and rich slow-cooked meals. It also pairs beautifully with well-aged cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting is recommended, especially when young, to allow the wine’s aromatics and structure to open fully.

Producer
Dominio de Pingus is one of Spain’s most celebrated modern wineries, and Peter Sisseck’s work has played a major role in elevating Ribera del Duero on the world stage. The estate is known for extremely low yields, old-vine parcels, and a philosophy that prioritises balance, terroir, and natural expression over technical manipulation. Its wines have become reference points for the region and have earned cult status among collectors and enthusiasts alike.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0874/0614/9969/files/503022_trans_1c31e600-200a-43d0-88af-d90d913e86d0.png?v=1783461830
