White varieties account for only a small share of Châteauneuf-du-Pape’s vineyards, making bottlings like this an intriguing expression of the southern Rhône.

Tasting Notes
A vintage-specific tasting note for the 2019 has not been provided. Notes for the 2017 vintage offer a point of reference, though the wine may show differently: after extended aeration, it was described with yellow apple, citrus peel, melon, a hint of cucumber, ripe banana, vanilla, fresh almond and Darjeeling tea. The palate was notably deep and complex, with richness, fine tannic grip and a long finish.

The 2017 was said to benefit from several hours of aeration. Its structure suggests potential to develop further, but the ideal drinking window for the 2019 is not confirmed.

Production
The stated blend comprises Bourboulenc, Clairette, Grenache Blanc, Picpoul and Roussanne. Specific vineyard details, harvesting methods and winemaking information for the 2019 have not been supplied.

Food & Serving
Try it with roast poultry, grilled fish, shellfish or creamy dishes that can complement a full-bodied Rhône white. Serve around 10–12°C. The 2017 vintage was recommended with several hours of aeration; for the 2019, taste on opening and allow extra air if its aromas seem reserved.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0874/0614/9969/files/domaine-de-beaurenard-chateauneuf-du-pape-blanc-2019-0.jpg?v=1791675360
