It offers a chance to explore the approach of the Reynaud family beyond the celebrated wines of Château Rayas.

Tasting Notes
At this age, the wine may show a developed profile, with softened fruit and emerging savoury notes. Expect possible aromas of ripe plum and dark berries, alongside hints of spice and earth; the exact character will depend on the bottle’s storage and condition.

The 2009 is best approached as a mature wine and is likely ready to drink. Its remaining ageing potential will vary by bottle, so checking its condition before opening is advisable.

Food & Serving
Try it with roast lamb, grilled sausages, or a slow-cooked beef dish, whose savoury flavours can complement the wine’s mature fruit and spice. Serve at around 16–18°C. If the wine has sediment, decant it carefully; otherwise, open shortly before serving and taste as it develops in the glass.

Producer
Château Rayas is a renowned Châteauneuf-du-Pape estate in the southern Rhône, now led by Emmanuel Reynaud.
