Its appeal lies in that connection and in the character of a well-aged Vacqueyras from a respected vintage.

Tasting Notes
In the classic Vacqueyras style, expect a ruby-garnet colour and aromas that may bring together ripe red and dark fruits, dried herbs and warm spice, with savoury notes developing as the wine opens. The 2011 vintage is mature now; its condition and remaining ageing potential will depend on provenance and storage, so it is best approached as a bottle to enjoy rather than cellar for the long term.

Food & Serving
Serve at around 16–18°C with roast lamb, grilled meats, hearty vegetable dishes or aged cheeses. Given its age, pour carefully and taste before deciding whether it needs decanting; a brief time in the glass may be preferable to prolonged aeration.

Producer
Château des Tours is associated with Emmanuel Reynaud, whose family is also behind Château Rayas, one of the Rhône Valley’s most celebrated estates. This connection gives the wine added interest for Rhône enthusiasts, while its Vacqueyras appellation places it among the region’s distinctive southern Rhône reds.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0874/0614/9969/files/chateau-rayas-chateau-des-tours-vacqueyras-2011-0.png?v=1793730242
