Now mature, this vintage offers an opportunity to explore a more evolved expression of Vacqueyras, where ripe fruit and the warmth of the appellation can develop savoury complexity over time.

Tasting Notes
Bottle condition and storage will shape the profile, but a mature Vacqueyras of this style may show a garnet hue and aromas of dried red and dark fruit, herbs, spice and earthy notes. On the palate, expect a fuller-bodied red with softened tannins and a lingering, savoury finish.

At around 20 years of age, it is best approached as a mature wine rather than one to cellar for extended development. Open carefully and assess the bottle as it evolves in the glass.

Food & Serving
Serve at approximately 16–18°C with roast lamb, grilled beef, game or slow-cooked dishes seasoned with Mediterranean herbs. Open shortly before serving; a gentle decant can help separate any sediment, but avoid extended aeration until you have tasted the wine.

Producer
Château des Tours is part of the Reynaud family’s estate portfolio and is closely linked with Château Rayas, one of the Rhône Valley’s most celebrated domaines. Its wines are associated with Vacqueyras and the wider Southern Rhône, while the Rayas connection gives the estate particular interest among collectors of the region.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0874/0614/9969/files/chateau-rayas-chateau-des-tours-vacqueyras-2005-0.png?v=1793730241
