The three vintages showcase the depth and precision of this celebrated Pauillac estate, a Second Growth in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification and often described as a “super second.”

Tasting Notes
The 2014 opens with blackberry, cedar and graphite, leading to a medium-bodied palate with concentrated fruit, lively acidity and a precise finish. The 2015 is garnet-purple in colour, with red currant, cherry and mulberry aromas accented by baking spice and potpourri; its elegant fruit is framed by fine, firm tannins. The 2016 offers a deep garnet-purple hue and layered notes of red and black currant, plum, truffle, tapenade and exotic spice, with a firmly structured palate and a long, subtly herbal finish.

All three vintages have the structure to develop in bottle. The 2015 is expected to age gracefully for decades, while the 2014 and 2016 also offer excellent cellaring potential; allow them time to mature, or decant younger bottles before serving.

Production
From Pauillac in Bordeaux, the wines are made from Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Vineyard work is adapted to each year's conditions, with grapes harvested by hand and carefully selected by variety, vine age and parcel. After arrival at the winery, the fruit is fermented and macerated for around three to four weeks. The wines are then blended from selected lots following repeated tastings and matured in barrel.

Food & Serving
Serve at 16–18°C with roast lamb, beef fillet, venison or other richly flavoured meats; mature hard cheeses also make a fitting match. Decant younger bottles for around one to two hours to let their aromas unfold, adjusting the time to the wine's development and your preference.

Producer
Founded in 1689, the estate became Château Pichon-Longueville Baron after Baron Joseph de Pichon Longueville's holdings were divided among his children in the mid-19th century. It was recognised as a Second Growth in the 1855 Classification. After AXA acquired the property in the 1980s, significant investment and renewed attention to vineyard selection and winemaking helped restore its standing among Pauillac's leading estates.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0874/0614/9969/files/cb6_ch_teau-pichon-baron_glissi_re-noire_bd.png?v=1783442974
https://bottlehero.com/products/chateau-pichon-longueville-au-baron-de-pichon-longueville-black-giftbox-2014-2015-2016-1
