Made from hand-harvested Grenache and Mourvèdre in an exceptional vintage, it combines generous dark-fruit character with refined tannins and a subtle oak influence. The wine reflects the heritage of Château d’Aqueria, a 100-hectare property spanning the prestigious Tavel and Lirac appellations.

Tasting Notes
The wine displays a deep, dark-red colour with intense purple highlights. On the nose, it offers expressive aromas of ripe stone fruit, dark berries and warm spices, with an underlying sense of depth from its extended maturation.

Full-bodied yet harmonious on the palate, it delivers concentrated dark-fruit flavours alongside peppery and spicy notes. The tannins are notably silky, giving the wine a smooth, well-integrated finish. It is approachable now with decanting, while its structure and careful élevage should allow it to develop further over the next several years.

Production
Grenache and Mourvèdre are hand-harvested in exceptional vintages, then destemmed and gently pressed. The grapes undergo an extended maceration of approximately four weeks in oak vats, with regular pumping over during fermentation to achieve balanced extraction from each variety. Following this stage, 40% of the wine is matured for 18 months in French oak barrels between one and four years old, adding complexity without overpowering the fruit. Château d’Aqueria is committed to increasingly sustainable farming and is working towards organic production in order to preserve the rich terroirs of Lirac and Tavel.

Food & Serving
A natural partner for hearty dishes, this Lirac is well suited to côte de bœuf, roast pork with herbs, grilled or braised beef, and game. Serve lightly cool at around 16–18°C. Decant for 30–60 minutes before serving, particularly when enjoying the wine now, to open up its dark-fruit aromas and soften its youthful structure.

Producer
Château d’Aqueria is a historic 100-hectare estate extending across the Tavel and Lirac appellations and is regarded as one of the jewels of the southern Rhône. In May 2022, the Guigal family assumed responsibility for the property, with the ambition of preserving its history and continuing the work of the generations who have cared for its exceptional terroirs. The estate is now strengthening its sustainable vineyard practices and pursuing a path towards organic farming, while seeking to elevate the quality and reputation of its Tavel and Lirac wines.
