Made from Sangiovese grown in the prestigious Montalcino region, it combines vibrant red-fruit character with refined tannins, impressive balance and the ability to develop beautifully over time.

Tasting Notes
Bright, clear red in appearance, this Brunello opens with an intense bouquet of fresh, youthful red fruits. On the palate, lively acidity is seamlessly balanced by a creamy texture and an exceptionally silky mouthfeel. The tannins are remarkably fine and precise, giving the wine both elegance and structure, while the finish is persistent and seemingly endless.

Although approachable in its youth thanks to its polished texture and fresh fruit profile, the 2021 vintage has the concentration, acidity and tannic structure required for extended cellaring. It should continue to gain complexity over the next 10–20 years under suitable storage conditions.

Production
Produced in Montalcino, Tuscany, from the estate’s distinctive Sangiovese, the wine reflects the region’s combination of Mediterranean warmth, elevation and mineral-rich soils. The grapes are carefully selected by hand both before and after destemming. Fermentation takes place naturally, without the addition of cultured yeast, in an open, cone-shaped, temperature-controlled environment, followed by 23 days of fermentation and maceration. The wine then matures for a further 43 months in wood before release, in keeping with the structured and age-worthy style of Brunello di Montalcino.

Food & Serving
Serve at approximately 18°C. Decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended when enjoying the wine in its youth, both to open its aromas and to soften its fine tannins; older bottles should be decanted more carefully and for a shorter time. Its structure and freshness make it an excellent partner for Tuscan specialties, roast lamb, beef, game, wild boar ragù, truffle dishes and mature hard cheeses.

Producer
Casanova di Neri is one of Montalcino’s best-known estates, with a longstanding focus on expressing the character of the region’s Sangiovese.
