Named in honour of the winery’s founding in 1954, it reflects the Paradiso family’s long-standing dedication to expressive wines made from traditional Puglian grapes.

Tasting Notes
The wine displays a deep ruby-red colour. Its inviting aroma combines ripe plum and black cherry with notes of clove, vanilla and subtle toasted oak. On the palate, it is rich, rounded and generously fruited, supported by soft tannins and a warm, spicy finish with excellent length.

Enjoyable now for its supple texture and ripe fruit, the wine can also develop added softness and complexity over the next few years when stored in a cool, dark cellar.

Production
The Primitivo grapes are destemmed after harvest before fermentation and skin maceration in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 15–20°C for 15–20 days. The wine first matures for two months in stainless steel, followed by 12 months in oak barriques. It then returns to stainless-steel tanks for a further three months and spends an additional four months in bottle before release. This combination of controlled fermentation and extended oak ageing gives the wine its generous fruit, smooth structure and spicy character.

Food & Serving
A natural partner for grilled or roasted red meat, rich pasta dishes, slow-cooked stews and mature, full-flavoured cheeses. Serve at approximately 16–18°C. Decanting is not essential, but allowing the wine to breathe for 20–30 minutes before serving can help open its aromas and soften the oak and tannins.

Producer
Founded in 1954 by Angelo Paradiso, who turned to winemaking during the difficult post-war years in southern Italy, Cantine Paradiso has grown into a respected Puglian producer. Based in a region celebrated for powerful, sun-ripened reds, the winery is particularly known for its expressive wines made from Primitivo, Negroamaro and Nero di Troia. Its style combines the generous fruit of Puglia with carefully managed maturation in oak and bottle.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0874/0614/9969/files/paradiso-1954-primitivo_087de723-29c1-4ab7-8150-b9b6c77bceff.jpg?v=1785610368
