Named for “the heights,” Las Alturas stands out for its combination of ripe fruit, freshness and silky texture; no specific historical background is provided.

Tasting Notes
A deep ruby-red Pinot Noir, it opens with ripe cherry, blackberry and dark raspberry, followed by notes of vanilla, cocoa, baking spice and toasted oak. With time in the glass, hints of mocha, forest floor and sweet spice add complexity.

The palate is full and smooth, with layers of dark fruit and juicy berries balanced by lively freshness. Integrated tannins and oak add structure, and the finish lingers with dark chocolate, ripe cherry and vanilla. A specific aging window is not provided.

Production
The high-elevation Las Alturas vineyard benefits from the contrast between California sunshine and cool winds from Monterey Bay, conditions that help preserve freshness alongside ripe fruit. The wine is described as receiving careful oak aging, though details on harvest methods and vinification are not provided.

Food & Serving
Serve with grilled veal, roast or seared duck, mushroom dishes, or mature cheeses. For a good balance of fruit and freshness, serve lightly cool, around 16–18°C. A brief decant of 20–30 minutes can help the aromas open up, though it can also be enjoyed straight from the bottle.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0874/0614/9969/files/belle-glos-las-alturas-pinot-noir-2021-0.png?v=1791231892
